英文简介：Genetics is a branch of life sciences concerned with the study of heredity and variation in organisms. This course provides the fundamentals required to understand the principles of genetics as well as the current advances in genetics. We also focuses on the scientific process by showing how genetic concepts changes over time. Our topics include mendelism, extensions of mendelism, genes and gene mutation, chromosome aberration, linkage and crossing over, genome, gene expression regulation, genetic analysis approaches, complex traits inheritance, developmental genetics, cancer genetics, population genetics, etc. This is a blended course with both traditional face-to-face instruction and web-based online learning. A variety of instructional materials are provided online. Different learning activities are designed to promote the achievement of learning objectives in offline classes. Understanding of the principles of genetics, and developing analytical skills in genetic analysis are both emphasized in this course.
