Infection and Immunity

课程介绍

英文简介：The course will teach updated knowledge on main types of pathogens, their infection of the host and the mechanisms to cause disease, the host immune system and its reaction to infection, and the host-pathogen interactions in the infection process. The emphasis will be put on basic concepts in pathogen microbiology and immunology, and examples of pathogen-host interaction will be given in detail to elucidate the complicated interaction between host and pathogen, and the molecular, cell biological, and immunological mechanisms behind it. As an honor course, the students will be asked to read a significant amount of literatures, and participate in discussions, so as to have a deep thinking and good understanding on the scientific questions related to the area of infection and immunity.
